Time to dust yourself up and start again

It’s late at night, and nothing seems to be going so well. The sudden disappointment with a confused state of mind, a constant reminder of the failures, and yes — the dark memories. Is there a way to bounce back and overcome those failures?

I. A Simple Truth

The secret to continuing after failure is that there is no secret.
It sucks, it hurts, and it's miserable; you have to accept it. The way to keep going is to just not stop. It’s a matter of self-control and discipline, it’s a matter of just moving on.

II. The Motivation

Figure out your motivation — Family and friends, pets, etc. It will help keep you afloat.

III. Make a stupid to-do list

To start on a positive note, a simple stupid to-do list can help by creating a sense of accomplishment, for instance,
- Crack a joke
- Eat the office food before it gets cold
- Get a seat with a nice view

IV. Sleep

Sleep. It resets your brain. If you are sleep-deprived read something boring but meaningful, it might do the trick.

V. Avoid Social Media

Social media is a pseudo-reality. Everyone has good and bad days, you’re just seeing their good days and comparing them to all of your days, both good and bad ones.
The way people present themselves on these platforms isn’t really the whole picture of who they are. Most of them are putting on a persona, a mask, and saying/showing whatever is popular at the moment.

VI. De-socialize and Re-Socialize

Let go of the connections which seem like a drag.
Add the connections which add value or have the feel-good factor.

VII. Music and Movement

Music and exercise - It's all science. Stimulation of brain chemicals — Serotonin, dopamine, adrenaline.
-Serotonin is responsible for your feelings of happiness, well-being, and the stability of your mood.
-Dopamine is known as the feel-good neurotransmitter and it plays a role in controlling your mood
-Adrenaline, or epinephrine, is responsible for your body’s ‘fight or flight’ response. It helps you react quickly in a dangerous or stressful situation.

VIII. Strive to be a role model

It’s showtime. Show that you make self-improvement a priority in your life, and talk about your goals and steps you take to grow stronger. Be an example for yourself, for your loved ones, and for those who want you to fail.

IX. Volunteer

Volunteer — It will help you at times when your brain goes into existential crises. It will give you a purpose and a perspective.
Find a cause that hurts you about the world, and find a way to make that better for others. For instance,
Loneliness- Spend time with the elderly, it gets lonely as you age.
Ignorance- Teach whatever you know, and shape the minds of tomorrow with positive thoughts.

X. Stay Consistent

You can always be better stay consistent and have faith, patience, and hope.

Don’t ever give up on becoming something, don’t ever give in to those dark thoughts and anxieties, and don’t ever stop trying to be a better person.

Don’t give up because of one bad chapter in your life — keep on going and please, never give up on yourself.
